feBRuary !!!! BRRRR!

Will the cold weather ever end???? Ugh! We will find out as James Spann comes to visit us the 16th! This is always a hit with our third graders.
The flu is STILL creeping around my house, Michael, Franko, now Ty with a fever. I am ready for Spring.
Speaking of Spring, that means testing. We are really practicing those testing strategies. ARMT and SAT practice are in full swing in Ford’s class. Watch for practice examples coming home. We ALL seem to be mastering those multiplication facts. Ice Cream sundae party should be a blast! Get your valentines ready, I’ll send home the list this week. Thanks for all your hard work! Let’s keep pushing through :)

Christmas Countdown!

Thanks to everyone for your patience during my three day absence for foot surgery. I appreciate all your kindness and well wishes during this time. We have finished all of our lowercase cursive letters….and on to the capital letters. Fun!!! Multiplication is in full swing…..keep practicing those facts. Our goal for mastery is February! I am so proud of everyone mastering these! Our promethean board light is out…ugh…we have resorted back to “white board” until after the holiday. The children and I have adapted somewhat, but we are sure missing our technology.
Christmas “social” is on Monday with pizza lunch and goodies. Thanks to all who have sent in money and offered goodies. We will eat our pizza lunch in the room during our regular lunch time. Christmas sing a long is Tuesday in the multi-purpose room. Thanks again for all you do to make your child’s 3rd grade year a success! I am so proud of all these kiddos…..we are ready for 2011!

Happy Fall!

Happy Fall!
We are wrapping up our theme on Simple Machines. Hopefully you have heard a couple of cool facts from you kiddos! Our mini unit on the Water Cycle will begin next week.
Think Link has arrived and we will finish that also next week. We were so impressed it was easy!!! All this Learning is paying off.

Keep reading that 30 minutes EVERY Night!!! We have some kids really “fired up” about their books! That’s what it is all about! Ask your child what their book is about! Get involved, it makes for good conversation.
MATH—we have hit a roadblock on our 3′s. Please, study those flash cards. They come home EVERY night! We will make the 4′s this week and keep on truckin’. A few are falling behind, and eeek that will not be good.
Cursive , Cursive , Cursive—-can you write potato or octopus with beautiful o’s..and p’s ..WE CAN!
